About Us

Are you a real company?

We sure are. Click here to read an article about us in the Saskatoon Sun, April 17, 2005, p. 39.

Who owns and operates Prairie Tutor Network?

Prairie Tutor Network was started by Shauna Tilbury and Dewey Litwiller of Saskatoon, who were both teachers of English as a second language working at the University of Saskatchewan. Dewey Litwiller is currently the sole proprietor.

Why did you start Prairie Tutor Network?

Both of us tutor now and then as the need arises, mostly English as a second language. We have experienced how one-on-one tutoring can really make a difference in a student's progress. We have frequently been told by the people we tutor that it isn't easy to find qualified tutors in Saskatchewan. In addition, we know that it can be expensive for tutors to advertise their services. So, we started Prairie Tutor Network as a service to the people of Saskatchewan.

Where is the office of Prairie Tutor Network?

The "office" exists only in our computers. Prairie Tutor Network is a home-based business. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to actually rent office space.

Why do you charge tutors a $40 annual registration fee?

As you may have noticed, we do not have advertising on our web site, no popup windows or Internet sponsors. The registration fee we charge tutors to be listed on our site is the only means we have to pay the web hosting and advertising fees.

How do I know that I can trust Prairie Tutor Network?

If you have any questions or doubts, please contact us. We will be happy to talk with you and even meet with, if you prefer. We can also put you in contact with any tutor on our list, who will be able to vouch for our work ethic.
